On September 25th, dreams burst into reality for Holly Allen, as she was crowned Miss Wyoming USA 2012.
Born and raised in Lander, Holly considers herself a true Wyoming country girl. Her family owns and operates a guest ranch in the remote Wind River Mountains. Every summer, Holly has guided guests through the mountains, teaching them to ride and fish. She was also the ranch chef, where she perfected her creative culinary skills.
After high school, Holly’s adventurous spirit led her to the West coast. With her 4 year scholarship, she attended California State University, Chico and earned a degree in Business and Marketing with honors. She was on the executive board of her sorority and was involved in several activities and fundraisers; most prominently for the American Heart Association. During her education, she spent a semester abroad in Australia and extended her trip for a month-long solo backpacking excursion around the country.
After graduation, Holly’s desire for a challenge led her to dive into the exciting and ever-changing world of IT. She works with Fortune 500 companies nationwide, staffing their tech departments. She thrives on the interaction with people of various backgrounds, cultures, and expertise.
Naturally ambitious, Holly lives by a quote that she learned during a backpacking and sea kayaking expedition in Alaska; “Only on the summit will we straighten our bodies that lean always uphill” – Gaston Rebuffat. This attitude will shine throughout her reign as Miss Wyoming USA 2012.
Holly is ecstatic and honored to represent the great state of Wyoming in the Miss USA 2012 pageant.
